Meet Pantera R1 & R2: Malaysia's First Homegrown 300 km EV Bikes

On 3 November 2025, GGR Motor pulled the covers off two prototypes at the MARA Automotive Ecosystem showcase (MATEC 2025) in Bukit Jalil: the Pantera R1 and Pantera R2. Both are billed as Malaysia's first locally designed and assembled long-range electric motorcycles.

300 km on a single charge

The headline figure is range. Each Pantera is engineered to travel up to 300 km on a full charge — enough to bring intercity journeys within reach of an electric bike. A 5,000-watt hub motor paired with a Votol controller drives top speeds of between 110 and 150 km/h.

Charge at home, or swap and go

Power comes from two 73.8V / 116Ah batteries per bike, each capable of a full charge in about 30 minutes. Riders can plug in at home or top up at a swap station — flexibility built for people who can't afford to stand still.

  • Up to 300 km per single charge
  • 5,000 W hub motor with Votol controller
  • Top speed of 110–150 km/h
  • Two 73.8V / 116Ah batteries, ~30-minute fast charge each
  • Designed and assembled in Malaysia

Built for those who ride for a living

GGR is aiming the Pantera squarely at e-hailing riders and micro-entrepreneurs, estimating daily running-cost savings of up to 60% for delivery workers. The rollout runs in two phases — building a nationwide battery-swap and charging network first (October–December 2025), then opening pre-orders to e-hailing riders and the public from January 2026.

The main goal of the Pantera R1 and R2 is to create Malaysia's first locally made electric motorcycle that can achieve 300 kilometres on a full charge. — GGR Motor

Pricing has not been announced yet — GGR has promised figures comparable to mid-range petrol bikes, with low-deposit financing — and the bikes remain prototypes for now, not yet open for orders.
